Q&A / FYI

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we welcome the opportunity to see new patients. Appointments can be scheduled during office hours by calling our main office number (202) 966-7100.

Do you accept Medicare patients?

Yes, Dr. Boltansky and Dr. Brody are Medicare providers. We welcome patients with Medicare and are committed to caring for all eligible Medicare enrollees. We will file your claims directly to Medicare and also process secondary coverage if appropriate.

Are you a provider in my insurance network?

No. Other than Medicare, all of our patients with private insurance see us “out-of-network”. We provide an itemized bill for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. As “out-of- network” physicians we realize that our patients usually pay a “premium” for our services and because of this we strive to keep our pricing low in an effort to maximize your “out-of-network” reimbursement. We do ask for payment at the time services are provided. We accept cash, personal check and all major credit cards.

Will my insurance company pay for my services?

We make every effort to help our patients receive maximum reimbursement from their insurers. We use the most recent procedure codes and diagnostic codes to help maximize your insurance payments and minimize your out-of pocket expenses. We welcome the opportunity to review with you your claims results (often called an Explanation of Benefits) in order to confirm that all line items have been correctly processed. Any errors can be easily corrected and usually result in additional allowable benefits. If your health insurance coverage is limited or if you do not have medical insurance please contact our business manager to discuss an individualized payment plan.

Who is on call? Will I reach the doctor in an emergency?

Yes. Either Dr. Boltansky or Dr. Brody are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to address urgent matters. Simply call our main number at (202) 966-7100 to be connected to the answering service and they will page the doctor on call. You can expect a prompt response.

Can I get an appointment when I’m not feeling well?

Yes. Always. Our staff of registered nurses can assist in determining the urgency of your condition and schedule you to be seen by one of the doctors, usually the same day. We are here to help. Both of our physicians were trained at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and are board certified in allergy and immunology. Their approach to your care is consistent, making it seamless to see either doctor if you are seen on an emergent basis.

What advantages are there in your practice?

You get a live voice when you call us. We listen carefully to your medical concerns. We have earned a superior reputation in the community for delivering a high level of service. Both doctors are board certified in Allergy and Immunology. The doctors have been voted among Washingtonian Magazine’s Washington’s Top Doctors list for many many years. We have three registered nurses and a highly efficient administrative staff. We keep our prices low to be competitive and to soften the burden of those patients that see us out of their insurance networks. We offer same day appointments. We are Medicare providers. We are a community-based practice and genuinely care about our patients.
